We Support: Bel isi PNG
In 2018 20 SBBF Support Squad Team Members including Brian Bell Group Chairman Mr. Ian Clough and CEO Mr. Cameron Mackellar took part in a walk to mark the Day to End Violence Against Women and Girls, organised by Bel Isi PNG.
The Bel Isi PNG (“Peaceful PNG” in Pidgin) galvanises leaders to change the attitudes of staff towards Family and Sexual Violence (FSV) and raise awareness on the importance of addressing the issue both in companies and in the broader community. It brings together the private sector, community-based organisations, the National Capital District Commission and the governments of Australia and Papua New Guinea.
Bel Isi PNG combines direct service delivery (by Femili PNG) and support to businesses (through the PNG Business Coalition for Women and Oil Search Foundation) to access and implement improved FSV policies, procedures and training. The overall grant is managed by the Oil Search Foundation.
Bel Isi PNG is working with NCDC and a range of other service providers to improve all support services in Port Moresby for survivors of FSV.
