We Support: Equal Playing Field

On Sunday the 11th of October 2020 Equal Playing Field held a special event “Kokoda in a Day” supported by the Sir Brian Bell Foundation to raise additional funds for their special “respectful relationships” school programs to prevent violence against women and children.

It was an early 6am start on Sunday where participants attended the Murray Barracks field and started their running and walking to achieve the goal of walking the same length of Kokoda in a day. Participants attended individually and collectively in support of this initiative.

The team at Brian Bell Group and Sir Brian Bell Foundation led by Brian Bell Group CEO Mr Cameron Mackellar walked with team members and their families on their own route to complete the challenge up to burns peak starting from the newly built Le Hunte building. It was a challenging climb to the summit but the whole team made it to the top and were rewarded with a spectacular view. The team were thrilled to make It to the top and were happy to have completed the challenge for such a worthy cause. Brian Bell Group CEO Cameron Mackellar was happy with the progress and positive outcome of the event and encouraged the Equal Playing Fields team to keep up the good work.

The Sir Brian Bell Foundation was happy to assist with this initiative due to their close ties with both health and education initiatives and is happy to be able to assist in keeping this important program running. Each program run by Equal Playing Field runs for eight-weeks teaching students about respectful relationships which aims to prevent violence against women, by promoting gender equality and changing the attitudes and behaviours that enable violence against women to occur in the future.

Sir Brian Bell Foundation CEO Bronwyn Wright was thrilled to see the support behind this event and the continuation of the program for our youth and sponsored prizes to be handed out on the day.
