We Support: Kainantu Hospital
The Sir Brian Bell Foundation donates K25,202 to Kainantu Hospital from the Christmas Wish Tree promotion.
The annual Sir Brian Bell Foundation and Brian Bell Group Christmas Wish Tree promotion continued for the 7th year in 2023 with a total of K235,396 raised nationally to support numerous worthy charities and causes across Papua New Guinea with 100% of the funds raised being distributed to the nominated charities.
Our nominated Goroka charity was Kainantu Hospital in Eastern Highlands. A cheque totalling K25,202 was provided to Kainantu Hospital Chief Medical Officer Dr Milan Khadka by Brian Bell Homecentre Goroka Branch Manager Patrick Dunks alongside additional Support Squad Team Members.
Chief Medical Officer Dr Milan Khadka stated the funds would be put to good use particularly to make necessary renovations to the children’s ward which is currently very run down.
Chief Medical Officer Dr Milan Khadka also stressed the importance of early detection of cervical cancer and regular testing for women as Cervical cancer is still a big issue in the Highlands with not enough women coming forward for testing in the early stages. The Sir Brian Bell Foundation had previously donated a Gene X machine for testing in the area which is still in use.
Additionally, during the visit, the Sir Brian Bell Foundation Support Squad attended the official opening of the clinic at Henganoffi which is a mid-way point between Goroka and Kainantu. It is fantastic to see patient care now being accessible in this area.
We greatly appreciate each and every one of you who showed your support for the Wish Tree program so we could provide this donation.
