Sir Brian Bell Foundation donates K32,742 to Centre of Mercy from Christmas Wish Tree promotion.

The Sir Brian Bell Foundation Wish Tree Appeal is in its 7th successful year of supporting numerous worthy charities and causes across Papua New Guinea in partnership with the Brian Bell Group. A total of K235,396 was raised nationally during our annual Christmas Wish tree promotion in 2023 with 100% of the funds raised being distributed to the nominated charities, the Sir Brian Bell Foundation additionally made a secondary donation of K20,000 to each of the selected charities.

Our nominated Lae Charity was Centre of Mercy who was met by Store Manager Getta Sioni and Assistant Retail Manager Helen Elias at Brian Bell Homecentres in Lae today with many more of our Sir Brian Bell Foundation Support Squad in a special Celebration. Centre of Mercy is a Health Centre, which is the only Health Facility located in Kamkumung settlement and caters for roughly 300 patients per day. A total of K32,742 was donated through the Sir Brian Bell Foundation Wish Tree program which will be used for the construction of Chest Infection Clinic at Centre of Mercy so they can accommodate about 350 patients and to have a wide area increasing ventilation thus preventing further spread of TB in the facility as TB is air borne disease. This donation will be incredibly beneficial for the Lae community in reducing TB transmissions.
